William Douglas McMaster was born in Toronto and graduated from the European Film College – Denmark in 2009.

After spending a number of years travelling around the world as a photographer, he settled into directing documentary films. His first film, Forest Man, screened internationally and won numerous awards.

Following the announcement of the Oculus Rift in 2012, Will founded Polygon Window Productions, and began experimenting with 360 video for use in VR. So far Polygon Window has worked on videos for Top Gear and Formula 1, and is currently developing one of the first narrative 360 video experiences for VR.
